Gary LowellOwnerGary Lowell was born and raised in a small town in Maine. After living in Wisconsin for six years, he moved with his first wooden boat to Greensboro, North Carolina. While studying broadcasting in college, Gary worked at the local TV station as a director and lighting director. While the job paid the bills, boatbuilding fed his soul. He began rescuing and repairing old, classic sailboats and sailing them along the North Carolina coast. A descendant of the well-known New England boatbuilding Lowell family, Gary couldn’t ignore his heritage any longer. In 1993, Gary left television to open his own boatbuilding shop. Starting in his backyard, the business has since grown to one of the largest wooden boatbuilding shops in the country. Lowell Boats Inc. is an award-winning boat shop specializing in classic runabout restoration.

DestiniOffice ManagerDESTINI is the newest member of the Lowell boat family. She was born in Chapel Hill, NC but grew up in Raleigh. Destini attended Wingate University, Wake Tech Community college, and UNCG for Business & finance as well as Dance Education. Destini is our office manager and handles all the paperwork, while learning more and more about boats from the crew daily. Though, she does have experience with pontoon boats as her family loves to take theirs out on the lake. When Destini isn’t in the office, she enjoys teaching dance and cooking. Fun fact about Destini; she can do a backflip
