Spring is here! This week we had another sea trial. Check out everything else we accomplished. 18' Sea Skiff I enjoyed my first real sea trial yesterday! Gary was the captain, Jack tweaked everything that needed tweaking, and I just sat there and enjoyed Lake Townsend. Still very educational though. Follow us on You Tube '56 Continental Behold; the bull nose! Nicolas has finished the hidem upholstery. So pretty! 1960 Lightning Nicolas put the first coat of paint on the Lightning Below, Gary gives the crew a refresher in the "rolling & tipping" painting technique during class this week 26' Sea Skiff Jack painted the innards of the S.S. last week so this week he's fitting the motor and all the other things. I cut two mahogany bung holes and glued them in place all by myself! I also sanded and filled all the spray rail holes. Eeyore We just received Eeyore last week (friend of Piglet.) This week, I cleaned up some strange yellowing on the deck with a polishing compound, it came right off so we won't need to repaint; and I put a second coat of varnish on the rub rail. We had a fun and productive week! Cruiser We raised the mast on the cruiser to get dimensions for a covering. What a sight to see! We were speculating about how much the mast weighs. Any guesses? 26' Sea Skiff Jack prepped and painted inside the hull Century Coronado Shane's been painting the Century Coronado and reinstalling the hardware. You can see him polishing a trim piece below too. 1960 Lightning (Nickels) Nicolas has been tackling the Lightning. Filling gaps, hand planing, varnishing, sanding, painting. '56 Continental
Filled spray rail holes on the '56 Unfortunately for me, I was at home laid up all week after my second vaccine dose, and then an extra day with allergy-induced vertigo. But it looks like the guys got a lot done! 1960 Lightning (Nickels) We're fast at work on the Lightning this week. Nicolas is doing woodwork on the hull where it was rotted and soft. Stay tuned, more work to come on the rest. Cruiser Shane finished painting the hull and waterline on the sailboat. 18' Sea Skiff
I finished mounting the rub rails, polished up the emblem. Hey y'all, we're busy doing more stuff. Lots of sanding, varnishing and second coats. And we had our first cookout of the season! We all brought a dish and it was delish. 1956 Continental Nicolas is shaping up the floor boards for a snug fit! Deluxe Runabout Jack is doing all the things. 18' Sea Skiff I've been shaping the rub rails, which is super fun but really tedious. Cruiser Shane painted the new water line. Once it dries, he'll tape it off and paint the bottom. Check back next week!
