We want to thank everyone from the local chapters of the Antique & Classic Boat Society who came to the seminar this weekend in Greensboro. It was nice to see old friends and new faces. Thank you to our Pettit rep who came and spoke with us about their latest products. Carolina Skiff Just a typical day, hard at work with Gary overseeing every detail!! Nicolas will be replacing the transom, outboard engine box and bottom aft section. Cruisers Inc. Shane finished the custom made metal dash panel and will finish connecting the electrical wiring to the dash controls. He's also reinstalling the freshly chromed deck hardware. 26' Sea Skiff Gary delivered the Sea Skiff to the upholsterers in Raleigh. They will custom make all the seat cushions and a Bimini. Auto Tops and Interiors Budsin Lightning Bugs Shane is dry-fitting all rub rails for the Lightning Bugs, and put a sealer coat on boat 1. I've started sanding the decks for 2 & 3, and all three hatches, and prepping them to begin their varnish schedules next week. I've also started the varnish schedule for the interior pieces of boat 3. Ski Boat Jack has begun to build up coats of varnish on the hull and interior pieces of the Ski Boat. Jack has finished all the wiring for the Holiday and is reinstalling all the deck hardware. It's starting to look like a real boat now!

White Hall Nicolas finished repairing and reinstalling the rub rails after applying a few coats of varnish. Cruisers Inc. Shane custom made the metal dash panel to fit the new depth sounder and finished installing it this week. Ski Boat Jack stained the Ski Boat this week, and put a sealer coat of varnish on it. He also varnished interior pieces such as the ceiling boards. 1967 Lyman I've installed portside and starboard ceiling boards. We're still waiting for the new engine to arrive! We flipped boats 2 & 3 so we can get started sanding a varnishing the top decks. I made a new tiller arm to replace a broken arm for boat 3. I'm also working on sanding, repairing, and varnishing the hatches for all the bugs. Carolina Skiff We've got this skiff in rotation now. We rolled it yesterday and Nicolas will get started on the bottom, looking for rot and removing the keel. Budsin Lightning Bugs I painted the waterlines on boats #2 & #3, and started stripping the old varnish and epoxy off all the hatches. We've got all the ceiling boards stripped and sanded, ready to start building up more varnish coats. Ski Boat Jack put on the first coat of Bronze bottom paint on the Ski boat. White Hall
Nicolas put a few coats of varnish on the rub rails for the Whitehall. Ski Boat Jack has meticulously placed over 6 million wooden bungs, lining up the grain to match the plank. Then he chiseled them flush to the hull. Next he prepped the bottom, and applied a coat of primer. (OK....only 300 bungs, just seemed like a million) 1967 Lyman Gary and I installed the rudder post and rudder, prop shaft, Stuffing box and steering linkage, and gas tank. Now we're waiting for the new engine which is stuck in a snow storm up in Ohio! Budsin Lightning Bugs I'm nearly finished with the varnish coats on the hull for boats 2 and 3. Shane has been custom making new wooden rub rails for all the them. He has repaired some damage to the hull of boat #1 and put a fresh coat of paint in the bilge. Chris Craft Holiday Jack installed more of the customized chrome trim for the Holiday. It is starting to look like a real boat now. Cruisers Inc.
