Budsin Lightning Bugs Before we delivered two of the electric Point boats back to their resort home in upstate New York, we wanted to share the beauty of the finished product. We asked GLASBEAR Video Productions to capture the final product at the sea trial. Bottoms Up Gary put the name decal on the transom and he and Shane are working on wrapping up the electrical panel. Most of the deck hardware is on and we'll work on getting the rest of it reinstalled. Wayfarer The Wayfarer is all buttoned up and ready to go home. We always enjoy having some sailboats to work on in the shop! U-18 Nicolas is measuring and cutting the marine plywood panels for the bottom, but first he still has a few frames to reshape. Ski Boat
I've got the deck screws back in and all bunged up, next, I'll chisel them flush with the deck. Then we'll stain it Chris Craft mahogany, but the king plank will be a blonde color.

Have you always wondered what kind of scoundrels are working on the boats? Well, wonder no more... Meet the crew! Ski Boat Jack is all caught up on the Ski Boat so we moved it to the other side of the warehouse and I started sanding the deck. Nicolas helped me replace the old aft king plank with a fresh new piece. I epoxied some old holes and sealed some of the new raw wood that we put in. Budsin Lightning Bugs Point boats 1 and 3 set off for their home last weekend after the successful sea trials. On boat #2, we're working on getting all the ceiling boards in, wiring all electrical, and getting seating mounted. Nicolas chiseling the rabbet joint on the gripe. We finished up 1 and 3 and took them out for a sea trial before their pick-up deadline to head back to upstate New York. Stay tuned for a fun surprise coming soon! Carolina Skiff We flipped the Skiff so Nicolas can get started on the top. The transom is starting to take shape, and he cut the bulkhead for the motor. He's also scraping the bilge and will prep it for a fresh coat of paint. 26' Sea Skiff
We're finalizing some last minute details before the big Sea Skiff will be ready to go to the lake for a sea trial. Budsin Lightning Bugs We're down to the wire on the Budsins here. Boats #1 and #3 will be delivered to upstate New York next week. Varnish is all done, Shane and I permanently installed the rub rails, we're working on re-installing the deck hardware and interior. Gary is working on the wiring panels. Bottoms Up We're working on the electrical and interior of Bottoms Up and we'll also be permanently putting the name on the transom soon. Carolina Skiff This week I helped Nicolas get two bottom coats on the skiff. Today he'll prep and paint the hull. 26' Chris Craft Sea Skiff A Sea Trial for some adjustments. Jack re-installed the wood paneling after putting in the sound proofing material and insulation. He dry fit the ceiling panel and trim and next he needs to stain it and varnish. |
