Boat Spotlight: 1947 18ft Chris Craft Utility, "U-18"

Here at Lowell Boats we take pride in our projects and appriciate their patient and boat loving owneres. We want to take the time to spolight some of our projects and their progress. This week its the 18ft Utility aka the "U-18". This boat has come a long way. Just this year it's bottom was permanently installed & had it's engine tested & running by Gary. Jack has been working hard on this boat! He fitted the bottom planks by steam bending, cured the bottom, faired & lots of sanding as well as installed new sections of the chine planks and outer chine. Most recently the Port side chine plank was installed and now the Starboard chine plank is in and Jack is now fitting the outter chine piece. He also filled old holes on transom, started dry fitting the transom, & made new transom battens. There is more to come on this beauty but we love the progress happening!
