The weather has been favorable. This week in "class" Gary taught us how to tie a bowline knot and 2 half hitches. We learned Shane is a knot-tying champ. Such a cool crew! 20ft "Celebrity" Welcome to the shop little guy. Nicolas found a new passion project! An award-winning 1952 Celebrity Class Sloop. Made in Holland of mahogany, strip planked and edge nailed, the boats were finished in gleaming varnish. In the late 50's some owners switched to fiberglass. Some did the entire hull which added considerable weight, and some glassed right to the water line. In 1965, this boat won the Celebrity Nationals! '55 Continental I helped Gary with a bunch of really cool stuff this week; installing the rudder, bilge blower, the fuel line and fuel tank, tiller arm, and stuffing box. 15' Lyman The Lyman is ready for a sea trial, a break-in run with a new engine. While trolling at slow speeds, might as well drop a line. They were biting that day. '56 Continental Primed the water line on this one as well. "Cruiser" Shane sands the bottom of the 1994 Cruiser sloop rig and preps to paint the new waterline "Piglet" I dry fit the rub rails for the 1933 double ended Elecri-Craft. They're ready to be permanently mounted and then this boat is good to go! Check back next week!
