It is hot. Gary and Nicholas have abandoned us to fairer seas. We are keeping calm and carrying on. Humor aside, Jack and I have stayed very busy, despite our shorter hours due to the excessive heat inside the building. I've been stripping and sanding pieces for the Int-12, applying the final coat of paint to the seat bottoms for the 18 Sea Skiff, and dry-fitting its ceiling boards. I've also been responding to the many phone calls and emails for requests for surveys and pleas for restoration. I've been really surprised by how great the need for wooden boats restoration is in this area. Jack has been going full steam ahead on the ski boat. He made and installed a custom nylon bearing to get rid of the play in the steering wheel, made and installed stainless steel floorboard overlap trim, dry-fit the smaller vertical chrome trim near the transom, installed the windshield, engine box is in place, installed shift lever and adjusted shift linkage, replaced impellers and gaskets aka rebuilt the water pump, painted the final coat on the waterline and bottom sides, and installed the battery switch. That's all for now. Look for another update end of July! Thanks for reading.
