Gary Out of Shop Gary is out of town for Marine conferences and classes in Montreal. He will return to the shop November 13th. He's had a meeting at the Tidewater Wooden Boat Shop In Norfolk. He made a stop at the Mariners Museum In Newport News on his way north, Visited the Antique Boat America showroom in Clayton NY on his way to Montreal, Crossed lake Champlain on his way to Maine. Even got some tips from the master Jamie Lowell. Whirlwind Jack has modified and mounted the outer transom steel engine mount plate. Lyman Islander Jack made a cutaway in the forward deck frames in order to fit and install the new king plank. He has also stripped and repaired the inner gunnel face wood. He will stain and varnish those in preparation for cutting and fitting the new deck. 58 Continental Jack made further repairs to the side planks along the way - he had reinstalled the repaired side planks and bunged the entire boat. He is currently finishing the trimming of the bungs and sanding. Celebrity Shane has finished the deck trim and next he will work on the toe rails. 1995 Budsin Lightning Bug Shane has stripped and sanded the deck and transom. Next he plans to repair the broken deck plank. 57 Continental Shane laid fiberglass on the keel and the chine. He has fared out the fiberglass and laid some of the fairing epoxy to prep for full sheets of fiberglass.
