My wife and I have owned the Whirlwind for 38 years. The story of Whirlwind boats is pretty interesting. Great article on Oldtimeworld. "Wild about Whirlwinds" The hull is extremely strong and light. The boat is 17 foot and dry weighs about 600 lbs. Very economical to use and can be pulled with no trouble with our 1986 s-10 4 cyl. We are the 2nd owners and really appreciate Gary, Meghan and the crew keeping this boat afloat. We spend most of our time on lake Hickory and almost never see another woodie on the lake. That is a shame, but more fun for us. Tons of compliments! Nothing rides like a wood boat!
