This week we all came together to flip the Grand Craft, or as boat people call it, "righting." Nicholas spent the previous week painting the bottom a beautiful copper and varnishing its bow section in preparation for this flip. Since then he's been devoting most of his time to deck repair on the Celebrity and dry-fitting planks for the Continental. Four planks have been fitted and glued in place and are ready to be screwed into permanent position and plugged. He has been prepping the next board to go on, which will need to be steam-bent before final fit. Jack varnished the engine box for the Ski Boat as well as the spray rails. He also milled the wood for the engine box and lid for the 26 Sea Skiff, assembled it, and has been readying it for staining. Both boxes are looking beautiful! Isaiah has been filling the bottom holes on the Grand Craft and sanding them. He also painted the bilge. He sanded the Utility and stripped varnish from the Celebrity and the Lyman. Brady has been sanding the 26 Sea Skiff relentlessly and varnishing the Utility, the Ski Boat, and the 18 Sea Skiff. Gary has been playing "shop assistant" doing all the necessary milling, planking, painting, varnishing, and instructing here and there as needed for our new hires. A busy week for everyone!
